Britain’s Got Talent winner leave Newcastle Spellbound

HAVING dazzled the country with their skills, acrobats Spellbound honed their act here in the North East before taking their talent to the world stage.

This week the 30-strong troupe entertained thousands when the Britain’s Got Talent tour arrived in Newcastle.But since winning the popular television contest, Spellbound have been working non-stop to get into the best physical condition of their lives.

When they’re not performing to packed out arenas they’re using every spare hour to train for the Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships in Poland next monthAt the competition they’ll perform as the Great Britain team alongside gymnasts from County Durham who’ve made the grade.

The group called in to the Deerness Gymnastic Centre near Ushaw Moor, County Durham, yesterday.The team, aged from 12 up to 25, had a manic morning of intense training before leaving the region.Head coach Neil Griffiths said: “We wanted to increase the profile of the sport but going on to win the show was amazing. The reception we had from the crowd here was absolutely fantastic. Every show gets better and better but it’s going to be difficult to top Newcastle.”
