100 Apprentices in 100 Days

College challenges employers to support the 100 apprentices in 100 days campaign.Bishop Auckland College in support of the National Apprenticeship Service 100 apprentices in 100 days North East Campaign is challenging employers in the area to come forward and pledge an apprenticeship for a young person during the 100 days from 19th January to 28th April 2011.

The ‘100 in 100’ campaign is encouraging large and small businesses in the region to pledge a place and help young people get started on their career ladder.Recent research has shown that by offering an apprenticeship, employers can avoid skills shortages and reduce staff turnover.

Successful apprentice Anthony Wade 19 from Bishop Auckland, who was a Business Administration Apprentice – specialising in IT Technical Support – with Dolphin Computer Access in Ushaw Moor, Durham has recently been taken on as a full-time employee.
