Glad to see some development finally happening on the site. Although we are short of local amenities in the village.

I have been made aware of a time capsule which was burried on the site in the 1970’s. Does anyone know where it is burried?

I remember talk of this when the school was demolished, as far as I was aware it was to be dug up and re-buried by the governors of the school.

Original email concerning this Capsule from Elaine Bateman

“I have spoken to the Governors of the school and told them where the capsule is buried. I have spoken to some members of our class that actually made this up in 1977 with Miss lawlen who was out teacher at the time and I have heard that it should be getting dug up and re buried in the near future. It would be fantastic if we could all get together again and see this happen for old time sake after all the contents were put in there by all of us in this class at that time.”

When Gleeson develop the site, we would be happy to get everyone together and the School Governors, and hold a ‘dig up’ ceremony, as well as place a new time capsule. Watch this space!

I am still to confirm whether or not the Capsule has been removed or still there,,,, the above email from Elaine was back in 2008,, and am yet to confirm whether this is the same capsule,,, at this particular school. I let u know.

Many thanks Elaine. Your mum spoke with our Engineer and indicated the likely position. If/when we do commence development we will ensure that we pay particular attention to this issue and will liaise further with the School governors. Regards Ed. Gleeson Homes
