Local charity supporting prisoners’ families holds Spring Fair to help raise funds
A local charity which supports families of prisoners is holding a Spring Fair on Saturday 19 March 2016, from 10am – 12.30pm at the Town Hall, Market Place, Durham City.
The fair will give local people the chance to find out more about Nepacs’ work in the north east and help raise funds to support their work with children and families.
Nepacs is a long standing charity which works across the north east region to help support a positive future for prisoners and their families. Staff and volunteers from Nepacs provide a number of services to support friends and families of prisoners, in seven prison and young offender establishments across the north east and within the community, including prison visitors’ centres, play areas, youth projects, family support work and within the Teesside and Durham courts.
There will be a range of stalls selling:
- Cakes
- Plants
- Books and DVDs.
There will also be a raffle and tombola, giving those that attend a chance to win one of the many prizes that have been donated.
Everyone is welcome. Entrance is £1 and includes tea/coffee, biscuits or a hot cross bun!
All proceeds will go towards Nepacs work in helping families and friends of prisoners in the north east.
For more information about Nepacs please visit our website www.nepacs.co.uk or follow us on Twitter and Facebook (@nepacsinfo).

Finn will be competing in the age group (11-16 years) men’s four event.
The prestigious competition takes place in Stoke-on-Trent on Saturday and Sunday.
He is one of 10 gymnasts from the club travelling to the British Championships.
All of them are coached by Stuart Thompson and Karl Wharton who also coached the club’s senior men’s group to become World Champions in 2012. Stuart praised the ability and commitment of those at the club who have put in many hours of training in the gym and worked with international choreographers to prepare their routines to incorporate strength, agility, flexibility, balance and acrobatic skills for this competition.
Performances at the championships will include intricate balances and multiple and twisting somersaults.
