New Deerness Partnerships Head to National Gymnastics Competition
Two new developing partnerships of young gymnasts are heading off to a national acrobatic gymnastic competition this weekend (15 & 16 Nov) when four Deerness Gymnastics Academy gymnasts will be competing in the British Gymnastics ‘Pat Wade Classic’ at Stoke on Trent.
The two womens pairs are:
– Victoria Gargan, age 17, from High Shincliffe and Drew Armstrong, age 13 from Consett who will be competing in the 12-18 women’s pair section; and
– Katerina Dubov, age 14, from Chester-le-Street and Sydney Etherington, age 10, from School Aycliffe who will be competing in the 11-16 women’s pair section.

Olympic Star Helps Town Gymnasts
Newton Aycliffe based Jayenell Gymnastics Club have recently celebrated their 10 years anniversary and the celebrations are still continuing with the success from their recent display held on 12th September 2010.Club Owners Jean Stifman and Louise MacDougall were proud to be able to open the doors to over 250 members of the public, by putting on a 10 year Anniversary Celebration, sponsored by Aquabliss Bathrooms, in the form of a display, which included routines from all children, coaches and adults who currently attend Jayenell, as well as performances from special guests Deerness Valley Sports Acrobatics, Grangefield Gymnastics Club and Skyline Cheer and Dance Squad.
